Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the earliest time I can find out what the gender of my baby is?
A: 16 weeks is the earliest. Usually by this time the development of the sexual organs is far enough along to be able to accurately tell the gender.
Q: What happens if the gender can not be determined?
A: If the position of your baby prevents us from determining his or her gender, you may return at a later time, at a reduced fee, for another look. See our pricing page for more information.
Q: What is the difference between 2D, 3D, and 4D imaging?
A: 2D images are the standard black and white images in which a baby is seen from a single plane, for example, seeing your baby's facial profile. 3D imaging allows you to see all of the features of your baby's face. It is as if you are looking at a photograph of your baby. 2D is like seeing someone's profile in a darkened room, and 3D is being able to see their entire face once the light is turned on. 4D is actually being able to watch movement of a 3D image. 3D is like looking at a still photograph and 4D is like watching a video clip.
Q: What is the earliest time I can see my baby in 3D?
A: We recommend waiting until 22 weeks, but after 24 weeks is optimal. The latest time is 34 weeks. Full body images are best captured during the second trimester, while the best facial images are obtained after 30 weeks.
