Belly Casting

Although pregnancy seems never-ending while it is occurring, years later the memory will fade. From a simple, yet elegant belly-only, to a full torso with hands, a belly cast becomes a priceless, personal piece of art that fits beautifully into any part of your home. It is a lasting reminder of the precious time of your pregnancy.

There are two forms of casts available, external molding and impression molding. An external cast is done with material that is formed around the body part and allowed to dry. The cast is removed and allowed to cure, and then finished by sanding. The finished surface can be left as-is, or decorated. An impression is done by capturing the shape of the body part in alginate, then pouring the form with plaster to make an exact image of the body part. This type of cast captures the greatest detail.
